Competitions
Archery
The archery events included Target Shoot, Speed shoot, flying pig, stave shoot and novelty shoot for the kids. Rounds will take place at the fort. All gear will be checked and must comply with safety requirements.
See the full archery rules here...
Bardic
Most likely be two categories - Historical/Cultural and Humorous/Bawdy
Riddles
Monday night entertainment. Danelaw provided a huge selection of carefully researched period riddles.
Kubb
A Kubb competition for the younger Kubb shark.
No results recorded.
Brewing Competition
Really odd this time, no rules were published, circulated or discussed, no judges were nominated or volunteered, no time for judging was announced. It happened at the brewing workshop, which I attended, but none of the group I was with noticed any judging happening, including the people who brought brewing competition entries along just in case.
Previous years' criteria, in particular, that of historical accuracy seemed to go out the window with tropical fruit featuring heavily in the meads.
Tourney
The Australian Living History Tournament Championships, run annually by Danelaw were held at the AMC.
Jewellry
Run by Frojel.
Clothing
Judging to include viewing the clothes inside out to see if the item is hand sewn or machine sewn and possibly hand finished.
Hand crafts
No rules or categories published.
Knife and Axe throwing
Danelaw provided the targets and weapons. Rules seem to have been worked out on the day.

Beautiful Buns
An competition devised by a number of the ladies (ahem!) present at the conferention, aided and abetted by a large number of gentlemen (also ahem!) willing to get their buttocks fondled for the chance of winning (or not, as the case may have been).
Judging of all rounds was done by the ladies in question. In addition to "No clenching", the Eely Manouvre was specifically banned this year. A training session was run night before the competition with a sample of veteran contestants demonstrating the difference between normal firmness, clenched and the Eely Manouvre.
